Maslinica is a place located on the west coast of the island of Solta. It is characterized by natural values, which are adorned with pine forests and an archipelago of seven islets (Polebrnjak, Saskinja, Stipanska, Kamik, Balkun, Rudula and Grmej). that hide many historical sites.
Maslinica was created in 1703 when the Venetian provideur gave the Marchi family permission to build settlements with a castle and towers to defend against frequent attacks by pirates. Today Maslinica is a quiet tourist resort that is gladly visited by tourists from various countries and boaters who find sesula bay attractive.
This tourist center is interesting for lovers of nature, natural beaches and clean sea, and lately it has been a favorite destination for cyclists, rowers, boaters, as well as lovers of diving, sport fishing and hunting.
In 2012, as a confirmation for its quality and beauty, Maslinica received the national award as the 3rd best tourist place up to 1,000 inhabitants on the Adriatic, and in 2017 the national award for the most successful authentic coastal destination “malo misto”.
