Jelsa is a tourist center on the northern coast of the island, and it is located in the central part of the island of Hvar. The scents of dense pine forest, nearby sandy beaches, numerous vineyards and olive groves, as well as cultural sights have made Jelsa an attractive holiday destination.

Located in the middle of the island, Jelsa is an ideal starting point for numerous excursions: Grapčeva cave and Humac, Tor, the surrounding villages of Vrisnik, Svirče, Pitve, as well as the famous Zlatni rat beach in Bol on the island of Brac.
