If you have decided to visit the island of Hvar, and your destination is Hotel Palace Elisabeth, and you arrive by plane, the best option for transportation to your destination is to safely rent a taxi boat, which will take you from the pier, which is located 20 minutes from the airport building to Pier on the island of Hvar, 100 meters away from the Palace Hotel Elisabeth in just an hour. During this short trip you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the ride, but also the beautiful view of the remaining Dalmatian islands, all with organized transport from the airport building to the pier, which makes speedboat service an excellent solution to start your vacation immediately after leaving the plane.

Speead boat also offers you the possibility of daily excursions around other islands, and one of the most attractive is a safe visit to the Blue Cave located in Balun bay on the eastern side of the island of Biševo. It has been available to the public since 1884, when the outer entrance was breached, through which a small rowing boat is entered into the cave.

The cave has two openings, one smaller, artificially deepened, through which a rowing boat can pass through and this opening has no effect on the lighting in the cave. The second is an opening like a vault and it is much wider, on the south side of the cave below sea level and through it penetrates sunlight. Around noon for calm seas, the sun’s rays penetrate the underwater opening into the Blue Cave, reflect from the white bottom and illuminate the cave with blue, and the objects in the water are silvery. This natural phenomenon is visited annually by about 1300 guests a day, which in the summer months causes large crowds, and visits are limited, so book your appointment as soon as possible.

Speed boat ride from Split to Blue Cave (Bisevo island) lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. There you will move to a smaller boat to enter the Blue cave. Reason for that is that the entrance to the Blue cave is only 1.5 meters high, so only small boats can enter the Blue cave. While you are waiting you turn to enter the Blue cave, you can enjoy drinking coffee or juice in caffe bar. Once you enter the cave you will see why it is one of the most popular and beautiful places to visit in Croatia.

In case if you are coming with your own car there is parking in front of the port authority building (50 m from meeting point).
